Teresa Taylor, Chief Executive Officer
Teresa Taylor is the Chief Executive Officer and co-owner for the Career Institute. She skillfully oversees the organization and provides amazing leadership and vision for helping all the staff. Under her guidance, the staff deliver excellent customer service and training programs to participants. Teresa is gifted at creating partnerships to braid the funding and organizational strength that make our programs possible. Managing an organization that provides so much support to others requires an ability to keep people laughing and the atmosphere upbeat; this is another of Teresa's gifts. She is the director of strong emotional health, and uses her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Brigham Young University to empower others to be their best. It is her passion to make a difference by leading the Career Institute to be of significance in the lives of others.
Judy Takano, Chief Financial Officer
Judy Takano is the Chief Financial Officer and co-owner of the Career Institute. Her Master's degree is in Counseling from CSUSB and she excels in the budgeting, expenditures, billing and auditing departments of the company. She is passionate about helping others set and accomplish their goals and dreams by employing her gifts of being objective, supporting and trusting. She has strong leadership skills, is organized and is captivated by new ideas that help others progress. Judy has strong interpersonal, group communication and presentation skills that engage her in meaningful solution based projects.
Jana Shearer, Executive Administrative Assistant
Jana joined the Career Institute team in 2009 assisting in the summer youth employment program. She is now assisting running the program internally. She worked as a Career Mentor for 7 years and thus has the experience and insight needed to meet the administrative needs of the participants and the staff. Jana works on the Fiscal and Compliance Team to ensure our program delivers great service. She is the smiling voice at the end of the line when you call the Career Institute. It is her mission to help interested parties get the help and information they are seeking.
Briana Stalker, Executive Administrative Assistant
Briana Stalker came to the Career Institute in 2009 as a program participant seeking skills and assistance. She soon became a wonderful member of our staff. She assists participants with basic skills, testing, paperwork and program follow up. She is the smiling voice at the end of the line when you call the Career Institute. It is her mission to help interested parties get the help and information they are seeking.
Lisa Ashton, Marketing Coordinator
Lisa Ashton has been the Coordinator for Career Institute since 2009. She enjoys promoting all the creative ways Career Institute changes lives via our website, email blasts, flyers and social media. She assembles photos, stories, facts, testimonies and triumphs of the program to help spread the word of this remarkable work. She is happily married with three kids living in San Clemente.
LouAnne White, Teaching Coordinator and Career Mentor
LouAnne has extensive teaching and leadership experience as well as experience in sales and retail management. She is the instructor for Customer Service, Financial Freedom, and "Bring Your 'A' Game to Work". She has developed successful curriculum resulting in a high pass rate for these certification courses.
Cristine Holdaway, Accountant
Cristine Holdaway has a background in Accounting. She received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and minored in Business from Brigham Young University. She has provided accounting services for the Career Institute for the last 20 years as well as several other clients in the Inland Empire. She has also been involved in church auxiliary organizations and loves working with young people.
Georgia Burckel, College Career Mentor
Georgia joined Career Institute staff in July of 2014. She graduated from Chaffey College with her Associates in Universal Studies and Social Behaviors, and CSU San Bernardino with her Bachelors in Psychology. She is currently pursuing her Masters degree in Educational Counseling, at the University of La Verne. Georgia believes a college education is crucial for future and career success! As a former student of Career Institute, she knows firsthand the positive influence and life changing experiences we provide our students.
Jen Hanson, Career Mentor
Jen joined Career Institute in September 2016. She graduated from BYU with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She has a deep passion for teaching and enjoys being around youth. She loves to see the positive change in students that she helps at Career Institute. Jen has a wanderlust for travel and will jump on any opportunity to go somewhere new. She and her husband have been married for four years.

Thalia Garibay, Career Mentor
Thalia Garibay earned her Masters in College Counseling and Student Development Azusa Pacific University in 2016. She holds an Associates in Science and Associates in Arts in Liberal Arts Studies from Pasadena City College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from CSULA. She is currently a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Counselor at Chaffey College where she assists students in navigating the college system, and helping them reach their academic, personal, and career goals. As a Career Mentor for Career Institute, her goal is to help individuals in the community find their passion, and navigate their career options for personal growth and future opportunities. Her goal is to educate students, provide students with endless support and resources and instill leadership in students.
Vanessa Núñez, Career Mentor
Vanessa Nuñez joined Career Institute in May 2019. She obtained her M.S. in Guidance and Counseling with a PPS credential from California State University, San Bernardino in June 2018. She has a B.S. in Psychology from California State University, San Bernardino, and an A.A. in Social and Behavioral Sciences from College of the Desert. She is currently employed with Chaffey College E.O.P.S as a Success Guide/Counselor Apprentice. Being a first-generation Latina student to attend college, she is passionate to work with individuals, who are underrepresented, and help bridge the gap to reach their short or long term goals.

Praveeta Bhatnagar, Administrative Assistant
Praveeta Bhatnagar knows that the road to success requires the drive to keep pushing forward and never giving up. As a former business owner and experience through partnerships with various county organizations, Praveeta knows and understands the importance of being a positive influence on the youth in her community. Praveeta currently works in the Career Institute’s Barstow location assisting transitional youth with education, employment, and life skill training. Praveeta currently resides in Barstow with her husband and son, with plans to continue her education at Barstow Community College.

Jackee Benson, Career Mentor
Jackee attended college at Brigham Young University until she furthered her career as a National Certified Pharmacy Technician. Now in her 33 rd year in Pharmacy, she has taught over 8 years as a postsecondary instructor and then 4 years as Director of Education for the International Education Corporation. Always an entrepreneur at heart, Jackee is intent on success, having owned and operated her own business in Real Estate. Jackee is excited to bring her talents and experience to be working alongside the dedicated professionals at Career Institute. Jackee and her husband remain enamored by the beautiful mountains and wonderful community in which they live. She is dedicated to be working beside our local youth and community to develop partnerships in developing and nurturing a solid foundation for their academic and professional future.
Cyndi Smith, Administrative Assistant
Cyndi is a great contribution to the Lake Arrowhead office; she enjoys assisting the youth in completing their paperwork, and helping to run the office efficiently. Cyndi Worked for Stater Brothers for thirteen years Ten of which she was Service Deli Manager and three in the front office. In 1999, Cyndi and her husband adventured into entrepreneurship and opened several businesses in Burbank, Las Vegas, and California. Cyndi has learned through experience that there is no job too high or too low to do, but an adventure to enjoy, and that having the opportunity to work is something she has learned to appreciate in her life. Cyndi believes that her life is a gift; full of leaning and endless possibilities everywhere around you.
