Judy Takano

President / Chief Financial Officer

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

Judy Takano is the Chief Financial Officer and co-owner of the Career Institute. Her Master's degree is in Counseling from CSUSB and she excels in the budgeting, expenditures, billing, and auditing departments of the company. She is passionate about helping others set and accomplish their goals and dreams by employing her gifts of being objective, supporting, and trusting. She has strong leadership skills, is organized, and is captivated by new ideas that help others progress. Judy has strong interpersonal, group communication, and presentation skills that engage her in meaningful solution-based projects.

Teresa Taylor

Founding CEO - Consultant

Teresa Taylor is the founding Chief Executive Officer and Consultant of the Career Institute. She skillfully oversees the organization and provides amazing leadership and vision for helping all the staff. Under her guidance, the staff deliver excellent customer service and training programs to participants. Teresa is gifted at creating partnerships to braid the funding and organizational strength that make our programs possible. Managing an organization that provides so much support to others requires an ability to keep people laughing and the atmosphere upbeat; this is another of Teresa's gifts. She is the director of strong emotional health and uses her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Brigham Young University to empower others to be their best. It is her passion to make a difference by leading the Career Institute to be of significance in the lives of others.

Jana Shearer

Executive Administrative Assistant

Jana joined the Career Institute team in 2009 assisting in the summer youth employment program.  She worked as a Career Mentor for 7 years and thus has the experience and insight needed to meet the administrative needs of the participants and the staff. Jana works on the Fiscal and Compliance Team to ensure our program delivers great service. She is the smiling voice at the end of the line when you call the Career Institute. It is her mission to help interested parties get the help and information they are seeking.

Briana Stalker

WIOA Fiscal & Complicance

Coordinator

Briana Stalker came to the Career Institute in 2009 as a program participant seeking skills and assistance.  She soon became a wonderful member of our staff.   She is the smiling voice at the end of the line when you call the Career Institute. It is her mission to help interested parties get the help and information they are seeking.

Cristine Holdaway 

Accountant

Cristine Holdaway has a background in Accounting.  She received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and minored in Business from Brigham Young University.  She has provided accounting services for the Career Institute for the last 24 years as well as several other clients in the Inland Empire.  She has also been involved in church auxiliary organizations and loves working with young people.

Caryn Payzant

Career Mentor

Caryn Payzant joined Career Institute in 2020 as a Career Mentor. A resident of Rancho Cucamonga for over 33 years, she knows and loves her community!! She has been an advocate for youth and young adults in the West End of San Bernardino County through her experience of serving on the Alta Loma School Board and with past work with the San Bernardino County School Boards Association and the Rancho Cucamonga Service Council. Her passion is guiding youth and young adults on their chosen path of career and secondary education to help them realize their future goals. Caryn has a Bachelor of Science from California State University – Northridge. She is often invited as an inspirational speaker throughout the community as well as a mentor for local high schools’ Career Days.  

Jen Hanson

Career Mentor

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

Jen joined Career Institute in September 2016. She graduated from BYU with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She has a deep passion for teaching and enjoys being around youth. She loves to see the positive change in students that she helps at Career Institute. Jen has a wanderlust for travel and will jump on any opportunity to go somewhere new. She and her husband have been married for four years and they have two young daughters.

Georgia Maass

Coordinator of WIOA Services / Career Mentor

Georgia joined Career Institute staff in July of 2014. She graduated from Chaffey College with her Associates in University Studies and Social Behaviors, and California State University San Bernardino with her Bachelor in Psychology. She recently completed her Master’s degree in Educational Counseling, at the University of La Verne. As a former student of Career Institute, she knows firsthand the positive influence and life-changing experiences Career Institute provides for our students.

Thalia Garibay

Coordinator of WIOA Services / Career Mentor

Thalia Garibay earned her Master's in College Counseling and Student Development from Azusa Pacific University in 2016.  She holds an Associates in Science and Associates in Arts in Liberal Arts Studies from Pasadena City College and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from CSULA. She is currently a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Counselor at Chaffey College where she assists students in navigating the college system and helping them reach their academic, personal, and career goals. As a Career Mentor for Career Institute, her goal is to help individuals in the community find their passion and navigate their career options for personal growth and future opportunities. Her goal is to educate students, provide students with endless support and resources, and instill leadership in students.

Yvon Minogue

Career Mentor

Yvon graduated from the University of South Dakota in 2016 with her bachelor’s degree in social work and a minor in Child and Adolescent Development. She recently earned her Master’s degree from the University of La Verne in Educational Counseling PPS. Yvon has been a softball coach/mentor for over 5 years at the collegiate level. She really enjoys working with young adults and teaching them the importance of a growth and positive mindset. As a career mentor, her goal is to help individuals find their passions and reach their academic, career, and personal life goals. 

Jackee Benson

Career Mentor

Jackee attended college at Brigham Young University until she furthered her career as a National Certified Pharmacy Technician. Now in her 33rd year in Pharmacy, she has taught over 8 years as a postsecondary instructor and then 4 years as Director of Education for the International Education Corporation. Always an entrepreneur at heart, Jackee is intent on success, having owned and operated her own business in Real Estate. Jackee is excited to bring her talents and experience to be working alongside the dedicated professionals at Career Institute. Jackee and her husband remain enamored by the beautiful mountains and wonderful community in which they live. She is dedicated to be working beside our local youth and community to develop partnerships in developing and nurturing a solid foundation for their academic and professional future.

Praveeta Bhatnagar

Career Mentor

Praveeta Bhatnagar knows that the road to success requires the drive to keep pushing forward and never giving up.  As a former business owner and experience through partnerships with various county organizations, Praveeta knows and understands the importance of being a positive influence on the youth in her community.  Praveeta currently works in the Career Institute’s Barstow location assisting transitional youth with education, employment, and life skill training. Praveeta currently resides in Barstow with her husband and son and is continuing her education at Barstow Community College.

Tatiana Allen

College & Career

Specialist

Tatiana is a Career Institute Alumni as of 2018;  as well as a former Student Ambassador for the Career Institute in 2019. She graduated with an Associates in the field of communication in 2020 and transferred to the University of Santa Barbara where she is continuing her studies in the field of Communications. She hopes to start Grad School in 2022 to become a high school counselor. She is very excited to be apart of the career institutes team as a College and Career Specialist this year! 

Jocelyn Rorigeuz

College & Career

Specialist

Jocelyn Rodriguez is a former Career Institute program participant.  She completed Hospitality and Management program. In 2018 Jocelyn became a Student Ambassador for Career Institute's alumni program, where she helps and mentors new students navigate the program. She is attending Chaffey College and has plans to graduate in the Spring of 2020. From there, her goal is to transfer to a Cal State or UC and pursue a career in Psychology work as a guidance counselor. We are so glad we have Jocelyn on our team!

Daisy Posadas

College & Career

Specialist

Daisy is a former Career Institute participant who completed our work experience program and soon after became a Student Ambassador. As a Student Ambassador, Daisy worked with our Career Mentors to recruit participants, connect with students, and share her experience with the program. Now, Daisy is a College and Career Specialist who supports and assists students with college, career, and employment readiness skills. She
is currently a student at Cal Poly Pomona double majoring in Liberal Studies and Theatre. Daisy hopes to help as many students as she can through her role with Career Institute!

Joshua Alban

Marketing Director

Joshua is a former Career Institute program participant, completing the Internship and College Mentorship program. In 2019, Joshua became a Student Ambassador for Career Institute, where he helped recruit new participants, attended outreach opportunities, and represented Career Institute as an Alumni. In 2020, he became a College & Career Specialist that aided new students in the program with college and career readiness. Now, he is the Marketing Director for Career Institute, helping the company grow and unite people in an online effort.

 

He graduated from Crafton Hills College and transferred to Cal State San Bernardino to fortify a career in Communication Studies with a concentration in Media Studies. He hopes to attain a Master's Degree in the future and make a difference in society for the LGBTQ+ Community.
