The PG&E Program is focused on paid work experience and career development activities for young adults between the ages of 18 and 24 in the Hinkley community and surrounding area.
PG&E Youth Program
Outdoor Facilities Maintenance Program
Career Institute and Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) select program participants to work in a paid work experience. Participants also receive training in career development, education planning, and life skill development.
Duties Include:
- 
Landscape maintenance 
- 
Fence building and maintenance 
- 
Posting and installation of signage 
- 
Maintenance and installation of irrigation systems 
- 
General clean-up of litter and debris

May perform any combination of tasks using shovels, hoes, pruning shears, saws, and ladders.

Job Description
Work Schedule Requirement:
- 
Monday through Thursday (30 hours a week) in the Hinkley area. 
​
Extras may include:

Monthly career development activities and education planning 
- 
Daily Safety Training to include: learning the fundamentals of safe work practices set forth by California Standards 
- 
Forklift Certification 
- 
First Aid Certification 
- 
OSHA Courses 
- 
Hazwhopper Certification 
Minimum Qualifications:
- 
Young adults between ages 18 and 24 living in Hinkley, Barstow or Lenwood area 
- 
Ability to understand and follow directions with a commitment to safety 
- 
Ability to work outdoors in all kinds of weather 
- 
Must be able to lift 50 pounds 
- 
Have reliable transportation 
- 
Must be attending a post-secondary training program such as college, GED, etc. 
Wage: You will be paid the current minimum wage with possible increase related to performance.
